Today all I had on my training schedule was an easy 6 miles. I LOVE these days. They are so needed. Marathon training is really hard on the body, and these short and easy runs help with recovery dramatically! My calf has been really tight lately, so I took it easy and stretched it after. The right side of my body always hurts, and I think it's because I favor it and run on the same side of the road too often. I am working on better form and different running routes with different inclines. The 6 miles averaged an 8:50 pace, and I felt pretty good the entire time. After my run, I did some strides and a quick strength workout.
What I Ate Yesterday:
A whole wheat english muffin with peanut butter and cream of wheat: my favorite!! It's the best combination ever!
With my marathon coming up in less than 2 MONTHS (holy cow), I decided to talk about some of my favorite marathon signs. There are some REALLY funny ones out there, and I'm hoping I see some of these along the course in Narragansett! I'll make sure my family makes me some awesome signs, I'm gonna need the extra motivation!!
There are sooooo many more signs that I find hysterical, but these are some of my favorites! Everyone knows how hard it is to run a marathon, and having funny signs really do help a runner. Know one knows how hard the training is, but race day is the reason we do it, and to have the support from thousands of people really is what keeps us going!
Questions to ponder:
What is your favorite food combination ever? Have you ever made someone a sign for a marathon? What is your all time favorite marathon sign?
HAPPY HUMP DAY!
