Monday is always my cross training day, so I rode 13.1 miles on my bike and did some strength training.
Strength training was done using my 30DAY app. I did 23 glute bridges, a 65 second plank, 23 leg lifts, 33 squats, and 23 pushups. I also have some strength training planned for later today.
After my workout this morning, I got my iced coffee and sat down and did a bit of journaling. I found this quote in my BELIEVE journal that I love: " Don't try to rush progress. Remember-- a step forward, no matter how small, is a step in the right direction." This quote really cheered me up this morning. I work really hard to accomplish my goals, and sometimes I have a bad day running or a bad race, but these runs/races are pushing me in the right direction no matter what. I learn the most from these runs/races, and they really make me cherish the good days!
For dinner last night I had some grilled shrimp, chicken wings, half a sweet potato, and steamed broccoli.
The dog and I were a bit under the weather after my race and the heat yesterday, so we took to the couch... She was very grumpy!
Questions to ponder:
What is your favorite cross-training activity? Do you have a favorite post race meal? How do you make yourself strength train even when you don't want to? Are you a coffee or tea drinker?
