Yup, that title says it all. This mornings tempo was brutal. This morning at 5:30 it was already 75 degrees with 87% humidity. I knew I would not be able to hold my pace for 8 straight miles, so I decided to break my 10 mile tempo run into 3 segments. Here they are:
1 mile warmup- 8:34
3 mile tempo- 8:06, 8:09, 8:04
1 mile cool down- 8:49
=5 miles
1 mile warmup- 8:44
2 mile tempo- 8:00, 8:00
=3 miles
1 mile tempo- 7:57
1 mile cool down- 8:55
=2 miles
=10 miles total at an average of 8:20.

1 mile cool down- 8:49

Following the terrible 10 miles (it really wasn't that bad), I did 2 sets of bleachers. Each set has 11 flights of stairs with 13-15 steps on each. It was hard, especially after the tempo run. I'm not a huge fan of stairs, but I know they are so beneficial and will make me stronger.
Dinner last night was the last of my vegetable soup over couscous with fresh garden tomato and a nice whole wheat roll. This always hits the spot, and I knew I needed some extra carbs for todays run!
I scored these Kodiak Cakes at Target yesterday, and I am super excited to try them! I'm going to make them for dinner tonight. I love breakfast for dinner! I will write a review on them for tomorrow :)
